In den vergangenen Tagen hatte ich einen kleinen uber-Kurztrip eingelegt. Diesmal führte mich die Reise in Taiwans Hauptstadt Taipeh. Für einen Kurztrip sicherlich etwas ungewöhnlich, kommt man doch sonst aus Tourismusaspekten eher selten nach Taiwan.
Der Computer Hersteller Acer hatte zum Product Launch der neuen Geräte im Rahmen der Messe Computex geladen. Wir hatten nach der Pressekonferenz am ersten Tag dank Alex, der deutschen Marketing Chefin, die Möglichkeit den weltweiten Marketing Chef Michael Birkin zu treffen und etwas über die aktuelle Kampagne zu plaudern. Für ein solchen Konzern waren wir alle sehr überrascht, wie grounded dieser Mann ist.
In jüngster Vergangenheit ist uns das Unternehmen, weniger durch deren Produkte sondern mehr durch seine Testimonials aufgefallen. Kiefer Sutherland oder auch Megan Fox hielten schon für äußerst kreative Kampagnen her. Acers neuster Zapfenstreich hört auf den Namen Tiësto und ist der bestbezahlte bzw. vermögendste DJ der Welt. Um sicher zu gehen, dass die geladenen Blogger aus Europa auch sicher den Weg nach Taipeh finden, dachte sich das äußerst sympathische Acer Marketing vermutlich “komm lass uns doch Tiësto auch noch einfliegen und mit nicht mehr als 300-400 geladenen Gästen in einer ebenso exquisiten Location feiern”. Gesagt, getan, gefeiert.
Zu den Produkten muss ich mir eingestehen, dass ich mir diese Ideen und Umsetzungen gerne auch von Apple wünschen würde. Das Laptop S7 hatte es mir besonders angetan. Sehr formschön, Gorilla Glas Touchdisplay, ultra schlank und Power unter der Haube. Jetzt noch OSX drauf und ich wäre happy. Auch mit den weiteren Neuvorstellungen erweist sich Acer als innovativ und kreativ.
Die Messe Computex als solches hatte, neben unzähligen, “reizenden” Hostessen und zahlreichen Apple Fakes, wenig innovatives und neues zu bieten. Den wohl besten Markenauftritt hatte unser Gastgeber. Die Stadt als solches hat durchaus ihre Reize und hat uns nicht ohne Grund am letzten Tag ca.17 km Fußweg abverlangt.
